  • As I understand it, Windows NT 4.0 replication lets you automatically duplicate changes that you make to a file on one computer to identical files on another computer or on multiple computers. But how do you set up replication, and how does it work?

A. Replication can be a powerful process, but it's slow and nonintuitive. To enable replication, you first need to configure the export server (which must be a server) as well as the import machines (which usually are servers but can be NT workstations). The Microsoft article "Configuring Windows NT for Replication" provides detailed steps of the process.
