My company uses an active/active Exchange 2000 Server cluster that works well. How do we recover the cluster if one node fails catastrophically and must be rebuilt?

The key to rebuilding a failed node is to use the Cluadmin command, which launches Cluster Administrator, to remove the node from the cluster before rebuilding the node (Microsoft provides a detailed description of the Cluster Administrator syntax at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/using/productdoc/en/default.asp?url=/windowsxp/home/using/productdoc/en/sag_mscsaclstexe_11.asp). Next, rebuild the machine as you typically would by reinstalling Windows and any other applications. After you rebuild the failed node and it can access the shared cluster storage, you can reinstall Exchange 2000 on the node. Exchange 2000's setup program will then reregister that node and its cluster resources as part of the cluster.
