A: Starting with Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft supports the installation of a CA on a Windows Server Core installation. You can install a root or subordinate CA using an enterprise or standalone configuration on the Server Core installations of the Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter editions. For more information, have a look at the Microsoft Technet article "How to Set Up a Certification Authority on a Server Core Installation."
