One of the biggest reasons for consolidating is to save money. Therefore, you should be aware that when a company pursues a consolidation solution, the company might also be considering a staff reduction. But even if your organization eliminates some positions and outsources others, your job will probably be safe. Onsite senior-level DBAs will still be necessary to ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are met, as well as to support the company’s outsourced resources.
