Along with Windows Mobile 2003, Microsoft also introduced ActiveSync 3.7, which has been enhanced to support Windows Powered Smartphones but also supports Pocket PC 2003 and Pocket PC 2002 devices (and probably Handheld PCs--H/PCs). ActiveSync 3.7 provides a slew of performance and reliability enhancements. For example, the new version offers an installation program that requires "as few as six mouse clicks," automatically detects serial as well as USB ports, and typically doesn't require a reboot.
