Troubleshooter: Slipstreaming and Exchange Server

Windows IT Pro
InstantDoc ID #42900

We're about to install a ton of new Exchange Server 2003 systems. Is there any way for me to build an integrated CD-ROM that includes Exchange 2003, Exchange 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), and additional hotfixes?

No. This process, called slipstreaming, is supported in Windows 2000 Server and later but not in Exchange. Exchange and Windows use different installers, and the Exchange Setup program isn't designed to work with slipstreamed installations. You'll need to install Exchange 2003, then SP1, then any post-SP1 hotfixes that you need.
