APPLICATION

Securely Deliver Documents
Omtool announced Genidocs 1.2, a new version of secure email software that now features Microsoft Office XP support, a server-to-server message gateway, and improved authentication. The Secure Message Relay feature automates steps at the server level so that users who frequently exchange high volumes of sensitive documents can send and receive secure email. Users can choose to send a Genidocs email message with the file attachments in their original formats rather than converting them to PDF or ZIP format, to preserve digital signatures. The software also features Web-based message creation and delivery tracking, SQL Server and Microsoft Access support, and the ability for secure email recipients to register their own user names, passwords, and hints so that passwords aren't sent through email.

Genidocs 1.2 core message processing uses a SQL Server 2000 database by default. Genidocs Advanced Server costs $17,500 for 50 seats, and Genidocs Server costs $5,595 for 50 seats. Contact Omtool at 603-898-8900 or http://www.omtool.com.

DATABASE ADMINISTRATION

Compare SQL Server Schemas
F.D. Russ & Associates announced SQLSchemaCheck 2.0, software that can compare any SQL Server, user database, or subsection schema to another SQL Server schema. SQLSchemaCheck reports incorrect table column order, missing tables, mismatched data types, lengths, and other table properties. The software can also report scripts that don't match or are missing. The software lets you browse various user objects on two SQL Servers. SQLSchemaCheck features a folder for triggers so you don't have to go through each table to work with triggers.

SQLSchemaCheck 2.0 supports SQL Server 2000, 7.0, and 6.5 and costs $55 for a single-user license. Contact F.D. Russ & Associates at 352-454-8192 or http://fdruss.no-ip.com/consult.

Manage Objects in Your Database
myLittleTools.net announced myLittleAdmin for SQL Server and Microsoft Access, a Web-based database-administration tool that uses Active Server Pages (ASP). The software lets you manage stored procedures, views, triggers, rules, and default objects. You can fully manage your databases even when you can't use Enterprise Manager. You can use the software to execute any SQL command, including stored procedures. You can also build an SQL command by using a wizard. The software is provided in ASP or VBScript source-code format.

myLittleAdmin supports SQL Server 2000 and 7.0 and costs approximately $180 for a single-site license. Contact myLittleTools.net at webmaster@mylittletools.net or http://www.mylittletools.net.
