Seriously, if the second edition is anything remotely like the first then you'll love the book.

I'm not sure this article has an actual point, but can assure you that both editions of Code Complete are superb. Steve McConnell addresses the majority of the software development issues that people just don't seem to want to address such as recommendations on how to layout and comment code along with hard statistics to back it up, examples of writing great methods and also examples of horrible code, etc. Something for everyone.
