To efficiently manage storage for your databases, you need to understand what objects take up disk space and how SQL Server stores those objects. I could not find this information anywhere else. MCTS information jumps right in. This article is the only piece I could find to augment "meaning" to the technical task to partitioning (especially WHY we should).
