I found this article very interesting. I've been looking at SQL DBA, or now I should say DTA, as another skill to add to my bag of tricks. Having been in Network Administration for some eight years now, mostly with MS products, I've had some exposure to MS SQL, both 6.5 and 7.0. I've got CBTs for MS SQL Server 7.0 and 2000 Administration. I know that is the starting point, but where to go from there? Where would one look for resources on learning VB? Should I start with VB 6.0, or go right into VB.NET? Do I need to start with programming 101? I've done batch scripting and KiX scripting. I was going to look at Perl once I got the KiX down better. Any suggestions from anyone would be great.
