Good article. One of our challenges with MSAS security has been to determine how to get "Analysis Manager" application to connect to an Analysis Server using HTTP security. In Analysis Manager, when you try to register a new server, it seems to automatically take your windows credential and start locating the server by machine name (it specifically states that "You cannot register an Analysis server by specifying its IP address"). Although one could argue that it is actually a feature to restrict administrative tasks within the same domain only, it does pose difficulty to implement remote administration.]]>
