HP and Microsoft Announce New Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Appliances

Today, Microsoft and HP announced the availability of five new converged appliances—the HP Business Decision Appliance, the HP Enterprise Data Warehouse Appliance, the HP Business Data Warehouse Appliance, the HP Database Consolidation Appliance, and HP e5000 Messaging System for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. “What we are doing with these new appliances is offering an all-in-one solution that includes hardware and software preinstalled and preconfigured for customers to deploy new solutions specifically for BI, for data warehousing, and for database consolidation,” said Fausto Ibarra, senior director, Microsoft Business Intelligence....Read the rest of entry >>

NovaView Expands Microsoft PowerPivot

Panorama Software announced NovaView for PowerPivot, a business intelligence (BI) suite built on top of the Microsoft PowerPivot platform. Panorama NovaView for PowerPivot adds capabilities to the PowerPivot platform to increase usability and feature breadth. Self-service BI capabilities of the product include a web interface, advanced analytics, and a data-level security layer. NovaView for PowerPivot also enables additional analysis, such as smart exceptions, instant calculations, and data formatting.
